25. Prime Minister Abe commended India’s efforts in the field of non-proliferation including the affirmation that goods and technologies transferred from Japan would not be used for delivery systems for WMD.

With those words, Ladies and Gentlemen, may I request you to join me in a toast to: the health and well-being of His Excellency the Prime Minister of Japan and Mrs. Abe; the continued prosperity and progress of the friendly people of Japan; and an expanded and enhanced India – Japan Strategic and Global Partnership.

देवियो एवं सज्जनो, इन्हीं शब्दों के साथ मेरा अनुरोध है कि निम्नलिखित के लिए दावत शुरू करे: जापान के महामहिम प्रधान मंत्री श्री अबे और श्रीमती अबे के स्वास्थ्य एवं कल्याण के लिए; जापान के मैत्रीपूर्ण लोगों की निरंतर समृद्धि एवं प्रगति के लिए; और विस्तारित एवं संवर्धित भारत - जापान सामरिक एवं वैश्विक साझेदारी के लिए।

The fact is that we have a Chief Guest for this parade every year over so many decades and this year we invited Prime Minister Abe to be the Chief Guest and we are delighted that he has accepted this invitation at a time which is not completely convenient to him because we know that his own internal Parliament and Diet is in session.

यह तथ्य कि कई दशकों से हर साल हम इस परेड के लिए किसी न किसी को मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में रखते हैं और इस साल हमने मुख्य अतिथि बनने के लिए प्रधान मंत्री श्री शिंजो अबे हो आमंत्रित किया है तथा हमें बड़ी प्रसन्नता है कि उन्होंने ऐसे समय में इस निमंत्रण को स्वीकार किया है जो उनके लिए पूरी तरह से सुविधाजनक नहीं है क्योंकि हम जानते हैं कि उनके यहां इस समय संसद सत्र चल रहा है।
